The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is up in arms with three members of the Senior National Team, the Black Stars, namely Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari and Asamoah Gyan for absenting themselves without official leave and refusing to travel with the team for Wednesday’s international friendly against Angola.

The FA says it will launch investigations into the matter to inform its next course of action.

18th November, 2009

MEDIA RELEASE
ABSENCE OF THREE BLACK STARS PLAYERS FROM CAMP FOR
THE ANGOLA FRIENDLY ON 18TH NOVEMBER 2009

In accordance with prescribed FIFA regulations for the release of players for national team matches the FA wrote to and secured the release of 20 players to honour the World Cup qualifying match against Mali on the 15th November, 2009 and the international friendly against Angola on the 18th November, 2009.

Unfortunately three players namely Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari and Asamoah Gyan did not travel with the team to Angola on Monday night for the Angola friendly.

The players stayed out without the permission of the Head Coach, Mr. Milovan Rajevac. The FA views this act with great concern and will investigate the matter further to inform its next course of action.

why is it that Ghanaian are always quick to judge others but has not taken time to see what they themselves are doing. Can some one tell me that the F.A boss has never absent himself from official duty without asking permission. Let us not act as if we are "angels".They are human just like u and I and therefore can err.PLEASE LET'S STOP THIS JUDGEMENTAL BUSINESS AND THINK OF THE GOOD OF GHANA

it seems we are pampering our senior players so much. i think it is time the GFA make them aware that they are not bigger than the FA and ghanaians. if they are stars and that they have money, and so what. i think they should be dealt with accordingly.

gUYS, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME LISTENING TO THIS. What will the FA do to them? We know our FA is a toothless-dog.They only buck, but wont bite. Lets watch them and see if anything good will come out of this investigation. They are just going to waste money to pay people to do Bogus investigation of which nothing is going to come out of it. What name are they going to the commiittee and how much the members going to get?. If the investigation dont come out with something sensible, they should charge them with financial lost to the state at fast-track High Court

What can the FA do apart writing apology letter for these boys and presenting it to the public as if they were written by the boys? They will just collect cash from the boys and that will be the end of it.Don't waste our ears.

Try to leave them alone. There are more talented young guys who are really waiting for them to be called to the senior national team. It is all by chance and God's plans that is why they are where they are now. And for that matter if they feel arrogant, it is the same God who will bring them down. They should relax and be calm. hope they will take this peace of advice.
