Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti claims Essien sought permission from Ghana's Coach Rajevac before absenting himself from the Angola friendly.

Cheslea coach Carlo Ancelotti has risked infuriating the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after claiming that Michael Essien sought permission to miss Wednesday's friendly game with Angola.

The Italian boss of the English Premier League side implies the GFA lied when it said Essien refused to join the Black Stars for the game in Luanda.

Angry GFA officials revealed earlier this week three players including Chelsea star Essien refused to join the squad for the game in Luanda.

Sulley Muntari and Asamoah Gyan also skipped the game without permission from Milovan Rajevac which has infuriated the Serbian coach.

The GFA is investigating the circumstances under which the three players refused to travel with the squad.

Even though the GFA released a statement saying the players intentionally absented themselves, Ancelotti implies the GFA is not telling the truth.

Ancelotti said: "It is simple. He asked the manager of Ghana if he could avoid the game on Wednesday.

"We gave him a day of rest and it was no problem.

"I didn't speak with the Ghana manager. I spoke only with Essien."

Gyan has already apologised for his absence blaming his French club Rennes who claimed they sought permission from the GFA.

what does the chesea coach think? will he be happy with essien if he behaved like that in his club? human beings are not perfect,so we shoud try to give room for human error. essien, pls becareful next time in your dealings cos the same people who're singing praises for you today could turn against you morrow. just remember your humble beginnings right from Agona Odoben, and dont let fame get into you that much. am not being judgemental, but try to be circumspective in ya dealings. God richy bless you and grant you the strength to be in top form at al times. to the GFA, take it easy cos this is the first time(i stand to be corrected) the players have behaved in this manner. they should be cautioned so that it doesn't repeat itself. mother Ghana, take it easy on your boyz!!

I think the three need tobe fined for about 2500 dollars a piece and bench for the next impending games if found culpable but to axe them from the team is no brainer.
