Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac says the act of indiscipline exhibited by three Black Stars players Michael Essien, Sulley Ali Muntari and Asamoah Gyan - has incurred his displeasure, for which the appropriate punishment will be meted out to them.

He said aside the FA's own investigation and recommendations, he would soon come out with his prescribed punishment for the European-based players to save his image and stamp his authority on the team.

He told the Graphic Sports from Serbia on phone that his action was not in reaction to the public outcry, but to prevent its recurrence in the team. The coach would not state the form of the punishment as he appeared evasive, but insisted that the players would not go scot-free.

Essien, Sulley and Gyan in a dramatic fashion, sent emissaries one after another to the airport on Monday, November 16, to collect their passports without prior notice to either the coach or FA officials. The FA had sought permission from their respective clubs for them to feature for the Black Stars in their final qualification match against Mali at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, and also in an international friendly against Angola in Luanda to officially inaugurate one of the stadia for next January's Nations Cup.

The players' action stirred public condemnation, including a call by former FA boss Dr Nyaho-Nyaho Tamakloe, for their immediate dismissal from the team. Sports Minister Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo has also instructed the FA to investigate the incident and make appropriate recommendations.

The coach could not state how soon he would "strike", but noted that it would be done at his own time. He, however, indicated that he needed to be tactful not to disintegrate the team, aware that the nation has two very important tournaments - the Nations Cup and the World Cup - ahead.

THEO- a coach must take charge of his team all the time. It is very crucial.Club football is very important as well as national football. For the trio they had to go and please their teams and for the coach he saw national obligation as the most important thing. So there are conflicting issues going on here but authority must be established. The question is did the trio ask the right permission?

This Coach should be careful!!! He is walking into an ambush which will end up in the termination of his appointment!!! The Coach in an unguarded attempt to stamp his authourity he is going to play to the gallery by talking an action he would not have done. This will incur the displeasure of the players which they will express at the CAN2010. This will end up in poor performance and the same gallery he wants to please will as for his dismissal before the world cup!!! Our elders say "If you do not know what it means to die, just watch someone who is asleep". He should recall how Mutaka (Former sports minister)nearly caused him problems by the way he spoke to the team in Kumasi. WATCH OUT!!!!

THE COACH IS WRONG. I SUPPORT ESSIEN, SULLEY AND GYAN. WHY DID THE FA NOT TELL GYAN THAT HE HAS FAXED FROM HIS TEAM? LOOK, WE SHOULD CALL A SPADE A SPADE. THESE PLAYERS AFTER PLAYING AGAINST MALI, ALL HAD IMPORTANT MATCHES. CHELSEA NEEDS POINTS TO LEAD THE BARCLAYS LEAGUE. INTER MILAN NEEDS POINTS TOLEAD THE SERIE A. WHY DO YOU WANT THES PLAYERS TO GO AND PLAY ANGOLA WHICH IS NOT IMPORTANT? GHANA , IT IS TIME WE REALISED ABOUT CERTAIN TRUTH. CHELSEA MISSED SOME PLAYERS LIKE BALLACK, DECO, LAMPARD AND DROGBA AND ESSIEN IS THE MACHINERY. NO WONDER HE SCORED 2 GOALS. WHAT WILL BENEFIT HIM IF HE HAD GONE TO ANGOLA. AFTER , IT IS NOT GHANA THAT MADE HIM NAME. IT IS CHELSEA THAT MADE ESSIEN ESSIEN. THE COACH IS VERY FOOLISH. INSTEAD OD TRAINING LOCAL BLACK STARS , HE IS BLAMING THESE THREE GURUS. WHAT HAS DOEN FOR GHANA? WHAT INFORMATION DOES HE PLAY? IF THE PLAYERS DO NOT USE THEIR MENTALITY, WHAT HAS HE DONE?

The Black Stars should be built in a way that players would strieve to join. It should be a respectable institution. I always make this reference to England where Fabio is so strict and fair to the extent that top players are not even sure if they will be part of the South African bound squad. They are doing everything to catch the eye of the coach. In Ghana it looks like indiscipline is killing us and some of our players think they are too big for the team. These chaps must be dealt with. I rest my case.

I don't think suspension will help the nation as they don't want to come and play for our nation, let them pay huge money and that may affect them more than suspension

The coaches action is definitely a step in the right direction. These international superstars should learn to be disciplined. No one is questioning the impact they have on the team, on the other hand they should know that they are not indispensable. Giving them the boot is certainly a rather harsh punishment... a few game suspensions should do.. this would give the other young players a chance to showcase their talent.
