Audio Attachment: Former Football Administrator and CEO of Agoo Magazine, Mr. Kojo Bonsu, says his call on gov't to put in place a Public Interest Committee (PIC) to oversee the activities of the GFA and help check indiscipline and corruption in football administration, is in the interest of the country.

A former football administrator and businessman, Mr. Kojo Bonsu has again taken a swipe at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) accusing the Kwesi Nyantakyi led administration of corruption. He also insists his call on government to immediately put in place a Public Interest Committee (PIC) to oversee the activities of the GFA and help check indiscipline and corruption in football administration, is not borne out of any personal ambition.

The CEO of Agoo Magazine had questioned the delay in the formation of the PIC by the GFA, but this seemed to have incurred the wrath of the GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, who described Mr. Bonsu’s call as “bogus and unmeritorious”.

Speaking in an interview on Peace Fm’s “Kokrokoo”, Mr. Bonsu pointed out that he had no ulterior motive in raising questions about the FA’s accrued accounts and expenditure. He dismiss the assertion that he is being driven by personal ambition to be at the helm of the country’s football administration affairs, stressing “I am more than a GFA Chairman. I contested for that position sometime back but that is over, I’m not interested in being the FA President, I’m more than that.”

Whiles commending the GFA for ensuring the country’s quick qualification to the World Cup in South Africa, 2010, the former football administrator minced no words by insisting that the PIC is needed to oversee the activities of the GFA.

“There is no doubt the GFA has done well in ensuring that Ghana qualifies to the World Cup for the second consecutive time, but my worry has to do with the amount of money expended in the whole world Cup campaign. Do you know in the match against Benin and Ghana’s last qualifying match, the GFA spent about $3 million? Is this not in the interest of the general public to know?” He asked.

Reacting to the public backlash his call for a PIC had generated, Mr Kojo Bonsu countered that since the current GFA administration assumed power, “they have instituted various committee, but have been reluctant to set up the PIC.”

He enumerated several instances including the infamous Mallam Issa case, where the former Youth and Sports Minister, was jailed for allegedly stealing $46,000, to press home his call for a speedy establishment of the PIC.

“Do you recall some few months back that the GFA president alleged some referees received bribes from teams, then go ahead to handle matches? Also, quite recently some players alleged that the Black Satellites Coach took bribes before fielding players… Have I done anything wrong in asking that a PIC to be formed…?All these issues border on corruption… that is not to say the GFA President is corrupt, but they work as a team and any corrupt act tints the administration…we need the PIC to bring sanity in football administration,” he stated.

He continued; “There is no need for people to attack me personally as they are doing, I’m not picking on any individual, so there is no need for people to attack me, but I believe the public will judge my comments,” he said.

Kojo you are very write. Within the Nyantakyi Admin some of his members are complaining on the same issue. As we praise them for seeing us thru to another world cup, we should not forget the utterances we heard when they came back from Germany. The big stomach ones should be deflated. U know whom I am talking about.

Kojo bonsu, please spare us some peace and stop boasting. How could you be bigger than GFA Prez. What's your qualification for the position- a failed dompoase sec school O level, small drug dealings/pushing or what? When did you start following soccer? Did you even go to Ahenfie to watch christian madus, tettey, bala and others play soccer. Do you know referees like migyima, prince yao boateng and others. Where did you play soccer or when did you start following soccer Ahenfie, subin valley, dunkirk, bantama, ahamadiyya school, asafo, suame trotro station or where? What will alhaji gurassa or yiro say. They have been training players like ojukwu/razak, kyenkyenhen, siriboe,ob,bright asare, opoku afriyie and others. What do you know about soccer at all- nothing. The mere fact that you have been able to trace linege due to your half bro's relationship with konadu do not make you a football administrator. Which colts team did you play in kumasi none?Or which position did you play in football in ghana? If you are lucky with your follow follow drug money, fucking keep your mouth shut.Do you even know what was COS in ghana Football, youngman? You are a fraud like your mentors. Please stay away before your dirty linen is washed outside. If you are too big, stop your family from peddling narcotice, idiot. I was wondering what your bigness is- PHD, MASTERS OR BACHELORS, ASSOCIATE/DIPLOMA . NONE OF THESE. NDC is a disgrace if all that they have is kojo bonsu

To Ofori and Frank Ankomah
Please try and find out more and do not argue base on these politically tinted comments!! Did any of you listen to Kwesi's Nyantakyi's submission? The GFA accounts are audited by the Accountant General. This report is sent to Parliament and discussed by the Public Accounts Committee and the Sports Committee!!! So where is the GFA failing to be accountable? The GFA boss met the Public Accounts Committe last week where he was quizzed and praised for returning over $2.5 million to government being money the made from the world cup and other activities. Now how many government agencies get their accounts scrutinzed in this manner?

kwasi nyantakyi must shut up ok what work does teacher, doctor do to get salary from the government they teach and assist us in our health related m,atters , ok that do not bring direct money to the country but its essential service to the country the country is run such that , monies from the GFA must not be the sole right of the FA to use/misuse ok how can you spend $3,000,000 just a football non essential match against benin and people suffering for roads , food to the school children and crude oil how much was TOR requesting from ecobank etc to assist them raise the letter of credit to get crude oil to the whole country we cannot eat our cake and have it henceforth , as kojo bonsu is saying, though i have different political view or party, i agree with him and even alhaji Grusah one time said so the GFA is misusing the monies acrude from football matches and must be stopped now am suggesting these 1) AFTER PAYING THE PLAYERS the deserving bonuses, the management team, technical etc, the remaining funds must be in government/state coffers for other projects of need 2) The government should not sponsor the GFA, make the FA find and use its own money is they are basing their misuse of funds on FIFA REGULATIONS 3) Ghana if we spend that much on the GFA alone and gets no return in cash to the state coffers after all the benefits from gate proceeds, FIFA participation funds etc, then we as a country can write to FIFA to take Ghana out of all international matches and FIFA activities, let us watch the kotoko-hearts etc matches and with the help of satellite watch other interesting soccer matches which will not need the state to fund Those monies can be channel to other projects, for this i find kojo bonsu right in the sense to push government into it if the GFA wants the state to finance them, then what they also get , some must be given to the state The GFA now is more than a company run by the some people who are gredy This is why i call prez mills inconpetent ok People should listen to mallam issah and muntaka to verify if what kojo said and what i and others are saying is wrong mills should have allowed muntaka to stay at the ministry, insist on correcting the mess by sending all GFA budget to the castle BUT muntaka should not sign or receive money at the ministry that would have let his critics and those critics muntaka also is stern on, all be at each others throat so to say to only implement decisions mills must look into the GFA kuffour has made the GFA attractive by pushing into it more money, thank God the current GFA has done well BUT must ie the state benefit from the GFA and not put in more money, kuffour has done that execellently already so the state must benefit I WELCOME EVERY COMMENT FOR OR AGAINST MY post here Thank you

In the figment of your imagination you think you are big. This is a position you have fought for all your life (as far as I can remember) so what are you talking about? How many times have you not tried even to be in charge of a lesser option, Kotoko CEO. You can stay in your house and "chop your bigmanism" who cares?? Such arrogance!!!
