Milovan Rajevac says Sulley Muntari remains a part of his plans for the 2010 World Cup after opening up for the first time about the axing of the Inter Milan midfielder from the Black Stars squad for the Nations Cup in Angola.

Muntari was the major casualty from the squad after a fall-out with the Serbian following a trip he made to Milan. But Rajevac says he has settled his differences with the player and will make him a part of his plans for the tournament in South Africa later this year if he is willing to play.

"For the World Cup you need players with experience, all of them: John Mensah, John Paintsil, Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari. They will be important players for the World Cup but it depends on them and how much they want to play because I want players who are willing to give off their best for Ghana," Rajevac said.

Rajevac confirmed an earlier ‘KickOffghana.com story that he omitted Muntari after he refused to meet the coach in Milan. I went to Milan before issuing the final team list just to talk to Muntari plus to talk to Balotelli and also for Sulley to assist with Balotelli because they play in the same team. I spent two days in Milan, I called, sent him messages; he was informed I was there but for two days he was not responding.

"After that I thought he didn't have reason to play so I dropped him. I spoke to the other players who missed the friendly against Angola and asked them if they wanted to play in the Nations Cup because I wanted players who really wanted to be there and they said yes. "That was all I wanted to do with Muntari. After that Sulley called and apologised and we sorted everything out. It was a misunderstanding."

It irks me if people conclude matters and throw insult based on their ungratefulness. Muntari has done alot for Ghana; He made a mistake and now he's back. The foreigner(COACH) is willing to accept him back whiles some Ghanaians are not willing to.Oh! God, please open the eyes of the blind. Amen

Did the couch manage to talk to Balotelli? so far what is he saying? There is no black italian in their national squad and Balotelli should not fool himself to think that he would succeed in playing for Italy than Ghana. As for Muntari Ghana should forget about him. The guy is behaving like Foley (1992 African cup squad)who thought they were doing ghana favour by playing for the country.

Milovan is sick, how can a good coach go to tournament with world's top score in under 20 level (Dominic Adiyiah)but failed to use him and yet still he's trying to deceive Ghanaians with flimsy excuses. The coach should watch-out cos he's been payed with taxpayers money and he should not gamble with our hearts.

I think black Starts would shine without Muntari.Ghana is bigger than any player and we better send players who are willing to put away pride and die for thier country, not those who think they have got it all....

This is unfortunately a foolish pride on the part of Muntari. Even though the coach is working for money, he took the trouble to risk his life by flying to Milan, asking him for his readiness to join the national but was disapointed by this particular player. This should be a great lesson. Never again should we rely on a single person for develpment and progress. We all watched how brilliant the Black Stars played without him. By jove! It was superb. So if he is still not satisfied with himself Pls couch allow him and look for another player. I'd also ask the authorities to give the coach a free-hand to train and select his team for any match. The man has done a great job for Ghana. May he live long and God bless him.
