Asante Kotoko have confirmed the sale of midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei to TP Mazembe for an undisclosed fee.
The reigning Ghana Premier League Most Valuable Player underwent a mandatory club medical with the DR Congo giants last month.
Adjei however returned to play for Kotoko in the 2-0 win against Berekum Arsenals a fortnight ago without the announcement of a confirmed move to Mazembe.
This raised a lot of concerns of the status of the purported move to the ex African champions with some even believing the deal is off.
But Kotoko’s Administrative Manager has told Angel FM the player will soon join his new teammates in the DRC without mentioning any figures.
“Very soon Nii Adjei will leave for TP Mazembe,” he said.
“He will leave very soon and we will inform the public accordingly.”
Nii Adjei spent close to eight seasons with Kotoko and was very integral to their Premier League success in the last campaign.
